“Open-Door Talks” are spaces we will open up once a quarter to facilitate conversations led by experts on specific topics. Each conversation will take place in a one-time Zoom session that will be recorded and made available to all who sign up. Those who register for the session will receive an email the day after the event with a link to the video.
We strongly encourage all who register to join the live Zoom session if your schedule and time zone permit. The link will be sent the day before the session to the email you provide in the registration form.
As part of the registration process, you will have the opportunity to submit questions for the presenter(s).
Read below for more information about this quarter’s open-door talk! You will find the registration form at the bottom of the page.
For our first Open-Door Talk, Missy Gray will be addressing questions around “Managing as a Family During a Crisis.”
Marriage and parenting can be fun and fulfilling, but they can also be hard! Building strong family relationships as we walk through life takes grit and intentionality in the best of times. During times of crisis, whether it is a global pandemic, a family emergency, a health issue, or a struggling child, holding things together and taking care of each other can be a daunting task. In this talk, we will use any questions submitted to think together about how we move through times of crisis and protect the needs of those in our family, communicate well, and pick up and try again when things don’t go as planned. We will discuss the effects of the long-term fatigue and stress under which we are all living, and how to help your family process these realities and move through them in compassionate and intentional ways.
Your questions will shape our talk, so please feel free to submit any questions you might have about our shared or personal struggles during these times and we will integrate them into our time together. No topic is off limits, and no concern is too big or too small. This should be a great time of mutual support and communal sharing that we hope will help you feel a little less alone and a little more equipped and courageous as you navigate these difficult times with your family.
Date and time of live Zoom session: Thursday, March 25th at 7:30 pm CST
